Undergraduate Minor in Complex Systems

Achievement/Results

The University of Michigan approved a new undergraduate minor in Complex Systems. This minor builds from courses that were developed as part of our IGERT program. The undergraduate minor creates an opportunity for students to gain exposure to key concepts in complex systems and to prepare for graduate school. In our first semester, we already have 10 students enrolled in the minor.

Address Goals

The minor will provide training in complex systems for the next generation of scientists. This directly relates to NSF’s learning goal. It also relates to the discovery goal in the sense that we are training the next generation of leaders in an emerging field.
