Trainees organize symposium on juvenile primates

IGERT trainees Connie Fellmann and Chris Schmitt organized a symposium on juvenile primates at the 2010 annual meeting of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists. The aim was to explore the complexity of selective pressures that operate on primates during their growth and development. This is a topic that has been neglected in the past, but is now emerging as a major new research area. The interdisciplinary symposium brought together leading researchers specializing in primate socio-ecology, growth and development, life-history studies and locomotor behavior.
