Achievement

IGERT fellow Farid Harhad developed a module that allows the user to interactively design a pipeline network on a topographic map. The user interactively plots the desired pipeline network on to a topographic map. When the user plots such a network, his code extracts pipe length, elevation and inclination and fees it to the pipeline network simulator. He performed these experiments while on Summer intership at Schlumberger and was selected because of his interdisciplinary background in both CFD and computer science.
