Research Achievements

Trainees create CLS blog

Our second achievement relates to computational legal studies (CLS). Three IGERT trainees, Dan Katz, Mike Bommarito and Jon Zelner, continued their work in this area through their blog: computationallegalstudies.com. The CLS blog is an attempt to disseminate legal or law-related studies that employ a computational or complex systems component. They also published three papers in 2010, two in Physica A and one in the Ohio State Law Journal. The CLS blog has been cited by The New York Times, Wired magazine and many other popular web sites. Our IGERT project was instrumental in bringing together Dan, Mike and Jon who continue to collaborate on complex systems research and, in particular, on computational legal studies.
