CIIP Trainee Dr. Stephanie Koch was awarded the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's most prestigious science commendation -- the Rachel Carson National Science Leadership Award. Dr. Koch was recognized for her scientific research that she developed as a CIIP trainee and for the partnerships she developed on her CIIP internship with Massachusetts Audubon. In the official proclamation of her award, the USFWS said it best: "We are so fortunate to have a scientist of Stephanie's caliber working for wildlife on behalf of the American people."
