Achievement

The educational experience of IGERT trainees has been greatly enhanced by their attendance at the IGERT weekly seminar series hosted by the Center for Urban Environmental Research and Education (CUERE). This seminar series includes presentations from distinguished speakers from a variety of disciplines covering a variety of topics. The seminars take place every Friday during the semester. Our IGERT trainees have been involved in choosing and hosting the speakers. Each week they are given the opportunity to meet with the speaker, discuss their research interests, and ask the speaker questions. Each week, the audience also varies in disciplinary focus and, as a result, the discussions generated by the presentations are often interdisciplinary in nature.
