Achievement

The NSMS IGERT formed a partnership during the 2010-2011 academic year with the Anderson School of Management. This allowed the creation of the Professional Science Masters program at UNM. During the 2011-2012 academic year efforts have expanded to further train IGERT fellows and their NSMS cohort in how to develop a business plan, work with licensing entities, and present their concepts to a board of investors. These courses add valuable/practical knowledge allowing future inventors to be more intimately involved in the marketing of their work. These efforts culminated in the annual Technology Business Plan Competition. NSMS IGERT fellow Eric Martin's team took the first place $25K award at this event. He and his team are continuing on to other business plan competitions.
