Achievement

Our Astrobiology Program is now switching from awarding a Certificate to awarding a dual-titled degree, so that a student in Dept. X will now receive a PhD in “X and Astrobiology”. The requirements for this dual-titled degree have now been approved by six different departments and within a month we expect the final approval from the Graduate School so that our first actual dual-titled degree will be awarded to a student in August 2012. Our students have requested this change as more fairly representing the effort they put into our requirements, and because they want to showcase more their interdisciplinarity.
