Trainee contributes to National Climate Assessment report

Rebecca Martin spent three months on her policy fellowship working with the US Global Change Research Program to help write the newest National Climate Assessment (NCA) report: Galloway, JN, W Schlesinger (Convening lead authors), CM Clark, NB Grimm, R Jackson, B Law, P Thornton, A Townsend (Lead authors), R Martin (Contributing author) (2013), Interactions of climate change and biogeochemical cycles, in Draft National Climate Assessment. US Global Change Research Program, Washington, D.C. Rebecca indicated that, “This fellowship was a great introduction into science and policy at the federal level. On one hand, the NCA was an instance of scientists coming together to inform policy makers, with the explicit charge to remain neutral and not offer prescriptive solutions to problems, while being highly conscious of how the report would be viewed by the public and the government.”
