Ethical and policy issues related to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Michael Burnam-Fink, an IGERT trainee and a PhD student in the Human Dimensions of Science and Technology program at ASU, is studying ethical and policy issues related to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), human enhancement (related to ADHD medication) and their impacts on college-level students. He has presented his research at premier national and international venues. His article “Writing the future: Science fiction as technology assessment” was presented at Generative Figurations at York University (Toronto, Jun 2012), and his article “Guerrilla science and blitzkrieg technology: Military theories for governing emerging technologies” was presented at STGlobal in Washington DC (Apr 2013). He also completed a research paper on the historiography of disability policy in the US, and founded our team’s blog portal for exchanging views on our research efforts. In this period, he also completed his PhD comprehensive exams, and advanced to candidacy.
