Curriculum on advances in stem cells

The Rutgers IGERT on Integrated Science and Engineering of Stem Cells has sought to develop a systematic research-centric curriculum on advances in the tools and platforms related to elucidation and manipulation of stem cells. The Rutgers IGERT has developed two new graduate level courses, Stem Cell Biology and Bioengineering, which was successfully offered Spring 2009 across the entire Rutgers campus and attracted students from life sciences, physical sciences, and engineering. A second course, called Stem Cell Toolbox, is a lab course, which will be offered Fall 2009. The courses are directed and co-directed by faculty from multiple disciplines and are designed to be not only comprehensive, but manageable and challenging for students from a variety of backgrounds.
