Achievement

The Amazon Field School was approved as an official Study Abroad Course, one of few at Texas A&M aimed at graduated students. Participation in the course was widened by opening it nationally and internationally to all students. ABS faculty member, Brightsmith worked with ABS Coordinator to advertise the course to social scientists and biologists. The idea is to make the course financially self-sustaining beyond the duration of the IGERT grant. Marketing materials and plans are in place to continue offering the course in subsequent years.
